It’s funny how I find things on the web. It’s rather like the way that I think in general. I have one thought, which leads to something totally unrelated, which leads to something else. You might call this ADHD; I call it a serendipitous way to gather and organize information—by association.
But I digress.
This afternoon, I was reading a Budgets are $exy email subscription. I followed a link in the email to a $200 Giveaway and decided to read some of the comments. The first comment posted was by JP from the denim debutante. I clicked through to her page and that’s where I saw her badge for Business 2 Blogger. I followed the badge to the Business 2 Blogger page, and–well, you get the picture.
What is Business 2 Blogger?
Business 2 Blogger is a brand-spanking new service that has the potential to be the next HARO. The concept is simple. While HARO connects reporters to sources at no cost, Business 2 Blogger connects companies to product reviewers at no cost. This is not only a win for the businesses, that now have the opportunity to get in front of a bloggers’ community and networks, it’s also a win for bloggers who like to provide product information and giveaways to build communities.
Considering that I have used HARO with great success (both professionally and personally), I decided to sign up for a preferred account. If this service works, I’ll get to do two things that I love most: find and share new and probably unrelated information to readers and give away a stockpile of freebies. Works for me.

Hey thanks! Shhhh…don't tell HARO, but that is where I got the idea and how we started the format. Unlike HARO, we have turned into a bit of a race which I am NOT loving…so, we are headed back to the drawing board next week to tweak and change a few things to better MATCH bloggers with businesses. I am so glad you found us! And thanks sooo much for the sweet words.
LOL! That was the first thing that I thought! "This is like HARO, only different!" LOL! I know that you guys are going back to the drawing board, and I know that it'll be fine. The good news: people like me expect kinks in the 1.0 launch – hey, look at the iPhone. And the better news: any criticism you've received is just free publicity. I just wanted to commend you guys for responding on this one blog that I read – the author never commented and i thought that was spineless. Kudos to the three of you for protecting your brand and addressing your customers directly. Let me know if I can be of any help! Thanks for stopping by!
Thanks for sharing this. I'm interested to see how the service works for you, and if its successful I'm sure I'll be on board to review relevant products on my own blog.
Thanks, Anilia. I haven't been able to apply for any opportunities yet – they're ironing out the kinks. It's a great idea, though, so we'll see how it goes.
