Okay, so this post has nothing to do with giving, but it does have to do with helping yourself. Apparently, Tiger Woods “helped himself” quite a bit to waitresses and models over the course of his marriage, an issue that has now become headline news. But what really bothers me about this whole thing is that these women are so eager to put their business on front street. I mean, do you really want to be known as a common whore? A woman who eagerly and willingly accepts someone else’s sloppy seconds? Is that really a badge of honor that these women want to wear? I can’t believe that women are publishing his text messages and his emails. What on earth is the incentive? Fifteen minutes of fame is not worth being forever linked to the complete devolution of an American “brand” and a family. I think that, no matter what Tiger did, these women should be ashamed of themselves.
When this story first broke, I was one of the folks craning my neck to see the damage. I went to all of the rag sites to see what the latest news was, to hear the recordings, etc. Then, I had to stop myself. What the hell was I doing? The reality is that any woman who would cheat with a married man, save his texts and messages and then play them for strangers clearly has emotional and psychological issues. Right is right and wrong is wrong. This is just wrong.
I am super, super glad that Elin beat Tiger’s ass; now, maybe they have a chance of making the marriage work. Elin effectively went “Madea” on his ass. As well she should have. Elin is the only person who has acted reasonably in this entire affair — no pun intended. But even Woods must have been under the ridiculous assumption that these women cared for him at least a little bit – at least enough to share private conversations and messages with them. He clearly trusted that they would keep his confidence, even if it were purchased.
So shame on you, I say. Shame on Rachel and Jamie and whoever the hell else he had affairs with over the course of his marriage. There are just some things that should NEVER be disclosed, no matter what you may have to gain monetarily.

I think if your average, typical Jo Blow can get caught cheating on his wife, then it’s obvious that the more money he has, the higher the chances of his transgressions will come out in public. These women did not sleep with Tiger because they cared for or loved him. They always had an ulterior motive, which is money and fame. Discretion always has a price. I hope he learned his lesson.
I think you’re absolutely right about that, Cate. I can’t understand why they’re all coming out now – just for the publicity? Have they no shame? It’s one thing to sleep with someone’s husband and another thing to have absolutely NO sense of discretion. I mean, come on? Who wants to be linked to this mess for the rest of her life?
